On 27th April 2015 the Ambassador of Italy Giovanni Umberto De Vito paid a visit to San Andrea School where he was welcomed by the Chairman Edgar Caruana Montaldo, the Head of the Early and Middle School Dorothy Lapira and the Assistant Head of the Senior School Stephen Briffa.

During the visit, the Ambassador was shown some of the school’s activities and met several students of different nationalities who have chosen Italian as a foreign language.

The San Andrea School offers a valuable bilingual educational programme which over the last few years has been met with a growing success among parents and students.

In the context of this long-standing collaboration, the Ambassador presented the Board with a €6,000 donation by the Italian Government as a contribution to the school bilingual programme regarding Italian language and culture.

Ambassador De Vito congratulated the School Board for the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education, tolerance and integration of children from different cultures. He also expressed appreciation for planned additional initiatives aimed at encouraging students to learn Italian and developing cultural exchanges with Italy.
