The Operational Programme Italy-Malta is one of the tools for the implementation of the cohesion policy of the EU at cross-border level between Sicily and Malta. The new programme aims at contributing to sustainable and inclusive growth at cross-border level by promoting research and innovation, enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises, safeguarding the environment and encouraging means and ways of lessening the effects of climate change and natural and human risks.
The total budget of the new Operational Programme for the period 2014-2020 amounts to approximately 52 million euros (44 million euros of which will be provided by the European Fund for Regional Development).
The Region of Sicily, as the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme Italy-Malta, launched a public consultation aimed to share the strategy of the forthcoming programme.
The online consultation will last one month from 13th August to 13th September 2014. During this period it is possible to send comments and observations, in English and Italian language, on the new Operational Programme by clicking here.
