The Malta Committee of the Società Dante Alighieri has been officially appointed by the Università per Stranieri of Siena (Italy) as the Malta Centre for the organization and running of the examinations for the DITALS Master degrees for the teaching of the Italian language to foreigners.

The SDA Committee in Malta is already responsible for the coordination of the PLIDA official Italian Language Diploma, according to the common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the standard language certification in Europe, which is also accredited by the Malta Qualifications Recognitions Centre (MQRIC), although not yet accepted by the University of Malta.

Furthermore, the Malta Committee is also the Examination Centre for ICON, the Consortium of 19 Italian Universities, which offers an on-line three-year Degree Programme in Italian language and culture open to Foreigners and Italian citizens resident outside Italy. The DA Learning Centre is also a preferred destination for Erasmus and Leonardo participants who ask for internships for their in-class experience.

The local Committee of the Società Dante Alighieri, present in Malta since 1959, can count on an international organization set up in 1889 with more than 400 Committees worldwide and more than 100 in Italy.

The SDA Malta organizes Italian language and culture courses for adults and students, sectoral language courses and has developed and produced a course in the Maltese language for Italians.

At the moment registrations are open for the Summer Morning classes for school age students who wish to undertake some revision or prepare themselves for the coming year.
