On 6th June the Female Choir of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave a performance in Malta in the presence of the President of Malta Marie Louise Coleiro Preca at the Palace in Valletta.
Under the direction of Nancy Romano, the Choir was joined by soprano Adriana Fenech Yordanova, contralto Hadar Halevi De Vito and renown Maltese pianist Charlene Farrugia.
The performance of “Stabat Mater” by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi was particularly appreciated by the large audience. The concert was attended by Maltese authorities (Chief Justice Silvio Camilleri, Attorney General Peter Grech and Minister of Home Affairs and National Security Carmelo Abela, among others) as well as by members of the Diplomatic Corps.
The female Choir of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was set up in 2008 and its international highlights include concerts in Madrid (2011), Kiev (2012), Paris (2013), Berlin (2014), Prague and London (2014), Vienna (2015).
Held under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Malta, the event forms part of a programme of cultural activities promoted by the Italian Embassy to support the Malta Community Chest Fund.
L’evento, svoltosi sotto l’alto patronato della Presidenza della Repubblica maltese, ha consentito di raccogliere donazioni in favore del Malta Community Chest Fund.
