On Sunday 17th August a Korean military ship ‘Munmu the Great’ arrived in Malta with over a hundred people on board evacuated from Libya, including eight Italian citizens.
In the early morning the Embassy of Italy in Malta prepared, together with the other embassies involved (United Kingdom, Ireland and South Korea) welcome desks at the Grand Harbour in Valletta. The Italian citizens were welcomed and given basic necessities.
The Embassy took care of transferring the Italian citizens to the airport and provided them with assistance in purchasing flight tickets to Italy. They waited for their flights in a waiting room inside the airport equipped with wifi and foodstuff.
