On July 11th the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy met the Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. The meeting was focused on economic growth, migration, the economic and monetary Union and the need to complete the EU energy market. “We need to ensure that no country is left unconnected to the common gas and electricity networks by 2015 – declared President Van Rompuy – Malta will benefit from the implementation of all these decisions. Like Malta does for the electrical interconnection with Sicily”.
