During her visit to Malta on 25th and 26th June 2013, the President of the Regione Umbria, dr.ssa Catiuscia Marini, signed a Memorandum of Collaboration in the Health Sector in the presence of the President of Malta, Dr. George Abela, and the Minister for Health, Dr. Godfrey Farrugia.
For about one year already, medical and specialised staff from Umbria has been assisting the Maltese competent Authorities in treating eating disorders. With the memorandum Maltese personnel, which will be operating at a new rehabilitation centre in the North of the Island (Dar Kenn Għal Saħħtek), can now benefit from training exchanges and sharing of expertise with the Region.
President Abela himself, during his State visit to Italy in March 2012, had shown great appreciation for the high level of professionalism and quality of services offered by the national health service at the specialised centres in Todi and Città della Pieve.
