On Friday 12th April 2013 the Ambassador of Italy Giovanni Umberto De Vito met the Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development, the Hon. Leo Brincat, who illustrated the priorities of the new Maltese Government in the field of sustainable development. Discussions revolved around possible collaborations in the reduction of harmful emissions, climate change and waste management. Minister Brincat announced his participation at the next informal Council on energy and the environment taking place in Dublin on 22nd and 23rd April, during which he intends to carry out some bilateral meetings.
