Economic diplomacy

Italian economic diplomacy is the activity carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to support Italian businesses abroad and promote the country’s growth across various sectors.

Commercial Office

The Commercial Office is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., excluding public holidays observed by this Embassy.

The main objectives of the Commercial Office are to:

  • Provide information on the Maltese economy, its main sectors and the opportunities offered by international tenders;
  • Promote Italian commercial initiatives in Malta;
  • Assist Italian natural or legal persons wishing to invest in Malta by providing them with the main guidelines and directing them to the competent Maltese authorities;
  • Foster trade exchanges between Italy and Malta by providing assistance in commercial relations between Italian and Maltese companies.

Italian-Maltese Chamber of Commerce

In carrying out its economic diplomacy functions, the Commercial Office cooperates with the Italian-Maltese Chamber of Commerce.
