The Embassy of Italy in Malta intends to establish a list of technical professionals (engineers and architects) to be invited, at a later stage, to participate in selection procedures for the provision of the services outlined below. The services relate to works to be carried out in Malta at the Embassy of Italy (5, Vilhena Street, Floriana) and at the Residence of the Ambassador (Villa Bel Air, Ta’ Xbiex Terrace, Ta’ Xbiex).
At this stage, no competitive selection or public procurement procedure is being launched, nor will any ranking, scoring or merit classification be established. This notice is intended solely to receive expressions of interest in order to encourage the participation and consultation of qualified professionals. It is not binding on the Embassy and serves exclusively to identify professionals who may be invited to submit a quotation at a later stage. This notice is exploratory in nature and does not create any legal rights or obligations between the interested professionals and the Embassy.
The architectural and engineering services that are expected to be commissioned in the near future are summarised below.
EMBASSY OF ITALY IN MALTA: GROUND FLOOR REFURBISHMENT, CREATION OF A SECURITY SCREENING AREA, REWIRING AND CERTIFICATION OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AND INSTALLATION OF A LIFT
• Technical support to the Sole Project Manager (RUP) throughout the procurement process up to the award of the works contract;
• Technical support to the RUP during the execution phase of the works;
• Works supervision.
RESIDENCE OF THE AMBASSADOR – VILLA BEL AIR: EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE WORKS AND REWIRING AND CERTIFICATION OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
• Technical support to the Sole Project Manager (RUP) throughout the procurement process up to the award of the works contract;
• Technical support to the RUP during the execution phase of the works;
• Works supervision.
The following will be particularly appreciated:
• Professional qualifications: proven experience in the activities covered by the future assignments; excellent knowledge of the local regulatory and administrative framework;
• Language requirements: for technical support assignments to the RUP, a good command of the Italian language.
