Malta, November 21, 2025 – The 10th edition of Italian Cuisine Week in Malta, organized by the Italian Embassy in Malta in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and numerous local partners (ITS Malta, TVM Malta, CasArtusi, and the Italian Academy of Cuisine), has concluded. The week opened on October 18 at the Italian Cultural Institute with a conference entitled “The Civilization of the Pantry,” led by Professor Gioacchino Giovanni Iapichino, delegate of the Italian Academy of Cuisine, and followed by a tasting curated by Chef Claudio Schiavone. On November 19, a masterclass was held at ITS Malta involving around thirty Maltese junior chefs led by Chef Luca Malacrida of CasArtusi, followed by a risotto competition won by Andrea Cremona. On November 20, Malacrida and Ambassador Valentina Setta were guests live on TVM to present traditional recipes from Romagna. In the evening, the awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Portomaso Hotel, accompanied by a live cooking show and a gala aperitif with approximately seventy Maltese agri-food professionals. Throughout the week, COMITES and the Chamber of Commerce engaged several Italian restaurants in initiatives promoting traditional dishes. These initiatives confirmed Italian cuisine as an effective tool for cultural promotion and economic cooperation.
