Leo Brincat, and the Italian Ambassador Giovanni Umberto De Vito. <BR><BR>The aim of the project is to prove that green roof technology is safe, economically efficient and can contribute to energy conservation and to mitigating localised flooding. <BR><BR>A circa 750m\u00b2 green roof will be constructed over the Faculty for Built Environment at the University of Malta and another 250m\u00b2 green roof over the Agricultural Centre of the Minoprio Foundation in Italy (province of Como). This will demonstrate that green roofs are an important tool in mitigating problems related to urban environment, promoting biodiversity and dealing with climate change. <BR><BR>The project will be running over a four-year period and is co-financed by the European Union.
