The passport will be kept at the Consular office during the whole application process and will be returned once the visa is approved and\/or refused.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Maltese Residence Permit (original plus photocopy);<\/li>\n<li>Passport-size photo <a href=\"https:\/\/amblavalletta.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fotografia_passaporto_web.pdf\">compliant with international ICAO standards<\/a>, full front, white background, and not older than 6 months;<\/li>\n<li>Previous Schengen or National Visa (if applicable);<\/li>\n<li>Availability of a <strong>suitable lodging<\/strong>, which\u00a0must be coherent\u00a0with the period of stay of your visa application,\u00a0<u>must be provided<\/u>.\n<ol>\n<li>Proof of <strong>rental agreements<\/strong> registered with\u00a0<em>Agenzia delle Entrate<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>Hotel <strong>booking<\/strong> of no less than 30 days;<\/li>\n<li>Declarationby an Italian or foreign national legally residing in Italy, in accordance of art, 46 and 47 of DPR 349\/1999, confirming that they have made available to the visa applicant a suitable accommodation that comply with the minimum standards laid down in the relevant regional law regarding public housing accommodation;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Confirmed flight booking or an itinerary. Please note that mobile screenshots are not allowed:\n<ol>\n<li>If traveling by plane, the ticket must be printed directly from the airline operator showing passenger name, dates, from\/to;<\/li>\n<li>If traveling by ferry, ticket reservations are required showing passenger\u2019s name, dates, from\/to;<\/li>\n<li>If traveling among multiple Schengen countries, travel ticket reservations are mandatory showing passenger\u2019s name, dates, from\/to between each country is mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Visa fee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Specific documents<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Self-employed professionals and Entrepreneurs\u00a0<\/strong>(requirements are being updated)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Self-Employed professionals<\/strong> are those mentioned in the list of the Italian Ministry of Justice \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mimit.gov.it\/index.php\/it\/component\/content\/article?id=2027474:profession%5B%E2%80%A6%5De-in-ordini-o-collegi-elenco-delle-associazioni-professionali\">Associazione delle Professioni non Regolamentate\u2019<\/a> according to Legislative Decree no. 206\/2007 art. 26 comma 3 and according to \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.giustizia.it\/giustizia\/it\/mg_1_29_29_0_1.wp\">Elenco Professioni Vigilate<\/a>\u2019 are included in ordini, collegi e albi professionali (professional orders, professional boards and bulletin boards). For medical professions the applicant will need to provide proof of inscription in the national register.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entrepreneurs<\/strong> are considered those business operators who intend to perform in Italy a commercial activity that is considered <strong>significant for the Italian economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Declaration of the <strong>absence of impedimental reasons<\/strong>, issued by the competent Italian administrative authority, in cases where authorizations or licenses, activity notifications, or registrations in specific registers or professional rolls are required. The date of the declaration must not be older than three months.<\/li>\n<li>Declaration of <strong>parametri di riferimento<\/strong> (list of specific assets to perform different commercial or professional activities) issued by the local Chamber of Commerce or by the pertinent professional order. The certification must in any case be for an amount not less than three times the annual capitalization of the monthly amount of the social allowance.<\/li>\n<li>Proof of <strong>income<\/strong> earned during the preceding fiscal year in the country of residence, higher than the minimum level provided by the law for exemption from participation in medical and health public assistance (\u20ac8.500,00);<\/li>\n<li>Nulla Osta (authorization) issued within the previous 90 days by the competent Italian Questura (Police Commissary);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Partners and Chairmen of Italian Companies Partners and Chairmen in Italian S.p.A., S.r.l. and SAPA, which must have been operating for at least three years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Certification of enrolment of the firm in the Business Registry (Visura Camerale)<\/li>\n<li>Copy of the declaration of responsibility sent by legal representative of the Italian company to the local Italian DTL (Territorial Labour Office) stating that, in virtue of the contract stipulated, the applicant will not be employed as a subordinate worker;<\/li>\n<li>Nulla Osta (authorization) issued within the previous 90 days earlier by the competent Italian Questura (Police Commissary);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Managers or highly qualified employees, university language tutors and university professors, translators and interpreters<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Managers or highly qualified employees of companies based in Italy or with branches in Italy, or of branch offices of foreign companies headquartered in a member country of the World Trade Organisation, or managers of main offices in Italy of Italian firms or firms of another EU member State;<\/p>\n<p>University language tutors and university professors intending to fill an academic position in Italian universities or in an educational institute;<\/p>\n<p>Translators and interpreters.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certification, issued by the competent Labour Territorial Service of the Italian DTL (Territorial Labour Office) stating that, in virtue of the contract stipulated, the applicant will not be employed as a subordinate worker;<\/li>\n<li>A contract showing a yearly income higher than the minimum level provided by the law for exemption from participation in medical and health public assistance (\u20ac8.500,00);<\/li>\n<li>Nulla Osta (authorization) issued by the competent Italian Questura (Police Commissary) within the previous 90 days;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Sport personnel and Athletes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Declaration of consent by CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) sent directly to the competent Italian Diplomatic\/ Consular Representation, indicating the athlete\u2019s personal data, sport practiced, and details and address of the team\/club of destination.<\/li>\n<li>Nulla Osta (authorization) of the Italian Questura (Police Commissary), stating that the sport practiced is included in the list of activities entitled to apply for a sport-self-employment visa.
