This visa is issued solely to those applicants who are planning to move permanently to Italy and it does not allow the recipient to work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Processing Times and Costs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The processing time for this type of visa can take up to 90 days.<\/p>\n<p>The visa fee is \u20ac116.00.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Documentation to be submitted<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the day of your appointment the following documents must be provided:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Application form<\/strong> for D-type\/National visa duly filled up and signed.<\/li>\n<li>Passport-size <strong>photo<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/amblavalletta.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fotografia_passaporto_web.pdf\">compliant with international ICAO standards<\/a>, full front, white background, and not older than 6 months;<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>valid passport<\/strong> (and a copy) satisfying the following criteria:\n<ul>\n<li>Its validity must extend at least three months beyond the duration of the requested visa;<\/li>\n<li>It must contain at least two blank pages;<\/li>\n<li>It must have been issued within the last 10 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Previous Schengen or National Visa (if applicable);<\/li>\n<li>Valid Maltese Residence Permit (original plus photocopy) with at least 3 months residual validity;<\/li>\n<li>Availability of a <strong>suitable lodging<\/strong>, which\u00a0must be coherent\u00a0with the period of stay of your visa application,\u00a0<u>must be provided<\/u>.\n<ul>\n<li>Proof of <strong>rental agreements<\/strong> registered with\u00a0<em>Agenzia delle Entrate<\/em>, OR<\/li>\n<li>Proof of property <strong>ownership<\/strong> (<em>deeds<\/em>) registered with\u00a0<em>Agenzia delle Entrate (Visura catastale dell\u2019immobile)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Documented and detailed proof of\u00a0<u>extensive<\/u>substantial and steady economic resources <\/strong>deriving from private incomes (pensions or annuities), properties, revenues from securities or stable entrepreneurial activities.\u00a0<u>The aforementioned financial resources must be available regardless of the daily work activity and therefore revenues originating from self-employment or subordinate job activities cannot be considered.<br \/>\n<\/u>In order to prove the compliance to this requirement, the applicant must provide official and reliable documents, e.g. company\u2019s certified audited balances, bank documents proving the existence of security revenues, properties title deeds, rental agreements of properties owned, company licenses.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to the documents to be provided at point 7, the applicant must always include:<br \/>\n\u2013 Last 12 months pay slips (if any);<br \/>\n\u2013 Last 12 months personal bank account statements;<br \/>\n\u2013 Last 12 months credit card statements;<br \/>\n<strong>Bank Statement should be on a bank letterhead.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Confirmed flight booking or an itinerary. Please note that mobile screenshots are not allowed:\n<ul>\n<li>If traveling by plane, the ticket must be printed directly from the airline operator showing passenger name, dates, from\/to;<\/li>\n<li>If traveling by ferry, ticket reservations are required showing passenger\u2019s name, dates, from\/to;<\/li>\n<li>If traveling among multiple Schengen countries, travel ticket reservations are mandatory showing passenger\u2019s name, dates, from\/to between each country is mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A letter explaining the reasons of your intention to move to Italy;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Residency visa can be also issued to dependent spouse and minor children and dependent children over 18 living with their parents, assuming that the applicant can demonstrate adequate financial assets to support them. A birth\/marriage certificate will be required (original plus one photocopy).
