{"id":5357,"date":"2024-05-20T09:10:31","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T07:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amblavalletta.esteri.it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/visti\/visto-per-nomadi-digitali-e-lavoratori-da-remoto\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T14:44:52","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T12:44:52","slug":"visto-per-nomadi-digitali-e-lavoratori-da-remoto","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/amblavalletta.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/visti\/visto-per-nomadi-digitali-e-lavoratori-da-remoto\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital nomad\/remote worker visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The visa for digital nomads and remote workers is intended for foreign nationals who wish to carry out highly qualified work activities in Italy, pursuant to Article 27-quater, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree No. 286\/1998.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that it can take up to 90 days to process remote worker visa applications and up to 120 days to process digital nomad visa applications.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must provide:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Application form<\/strong> duly filled up and signed.<\/li>\n<li>Valid passport or travel document (original plus photocopy),\u00a0valid at least 3 months\u00a0and with at least with two blank pages. The passport will be kept at the Consular office during the whole application process, and will be returned once the visa is approved and\/or refused.<\/li>\n<li>Valid Maltese Residence Permit (original plus photocopy).<\/li>\n<li>Passport-size photo <a href=\"https:\/\/amblavalletta.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fotografia_passaporto_web.pdf\">compliant with international ICAO standards<\/a>, full front, white background, and not older than 6 months;<\/li>\n<li>Proof of being a <strong>highly qualified professional<\/strong>. To support this, the applicant needs to prove one of the following conditions:\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors\u2019 Degree or\u00a0<strong>recognised<\/strong>post-secondary professional qualification (lasting at least 3 years). If these are issued by\u00a0<strong>non-EU entities (like the UK),<\/strong>\u00a0a\u00a0<u>Declaration of Value<\/u>\u00a0and\/or a\u00a0<u>CIMEA<\/u>\u00a0statement\/attestation must be enclosed;<\/li>\n<li><strong>At least 3 years of relevant<\/strong>professional work-related experience gained\u00a0<strong>within a 7 years period<\/strong>, prior to the date of the visa application (<u>Only applicable<\/u> to IT &amp; Communication professionals or Senior Management applicants categorised as per ISCO-08, n.133 &amp; n. 25);<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualification\u00a0<strong><u>acquired and attested via at least 5 years proven work related experience<\/u><\/strong>,\u00a0which\u00a0<strong>must equate\u00a0<\/strong>to comparable tertiary level educational qualification pertaining to the profession or specific sector of the contract of employment or irrevocable offer of employment. These must be supported by documentation such as (but not limited to): Contract of employment(s), Company information, Employment letter(s) confirming detailed job description(s) signed from senior line manager\/HR confirming role(s), duties and responsibilities, Tax Returns, etc.;<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, <strong>officially regulated professional qualification<\/strong> and\/or \u201c<strong>attestation of competence<\/strong>\u201d issued by an Italian regulated professional bodies &amp; associations (Elenco Professioni regolamentate e autorit\u00e0 competenti) which can be found on the link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.impresainungiorno.gov.it\">impresainungiorno.gov.it<\/a> as per art. 5, of the Legislative Decree no. 206\/2007. Please note that any certified supportive evidence (i.e. equivalent attestations from Italian regulated professional bodies &amp; associations &#8211; Elenco Professioni regolamentate e autorit\u00e0 competenti) must be obtained\/dated prior to the date of submission of the visa application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The documentation proving the relevant education issued by authorities\/entities NOT belonging to EU countries, must be submitted in certified copy (or copy conforming to the original), after having been legalized by these offices or apostilled by the competent authorities, accompanied by a translation into Italian. The translation must be certified as faithful to the original text.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>Proof of annual income<\/strong> derived from legitimate sources of income, which must be\u00a0at least <strong>triple<\/strong>the prevailing minimum amount level (\u20ac8,500.00), set by the current national legislation for the exemption from participation in medical and health public assistance.<\/li>\n<li>Availability of a <strong>suitable lodging<\/strong>, which\u00a0must be coherent\u00a0with the period of stay of your visa application,\u00a0<u>must be provided<\/u>.\n<ol>\n<li>Proof of <strong>rental agreements<\/strong> registered with\u00a0<em>Agenzia delle Entrate<\/em>, OR<\/li>\n<li>Proof of property <strong>ownership<\/strong> (<em>deeds<\/em>) registered with\u00a0<em>Agenzia delle Entrate (Visura catastale dell\u2019immobile)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Proof of possessing a <strong>valid health insurance<\/strong> covering all hospital and medical costs for the entire duration of your stay.<\/li>\n<li>Previous <strong>experience<\/strong> in the field of work (6 months minimum);<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Travel ticket reservation.
